The 1 to 1 is a concept appeared in the Nineties. It appears in the continuity of the tendencies of the Eighties with a greater segmentation and is based largely on new technologies for its implementation.
Synonym of “individualized marketing”, in opposition to the mass marketing. Each person could have the product that answer the best to his need.

So since few years now in the marketing service of the firms they develop the CRM (customer relationship managment). And for example the system fidelity card explose. Every brand must have one ! There is a rainbow of fidelity card especially for the women purchases.
But nowadays firms try to go further to attract their customer in their shops or to push them to buy. Now for example they analyse the slip sales and they proposed after by e.mail a special offer to the customer. For example if a customer of the Monoprix brand buy all the time dietetics product, the marketing service will not propose him a promotion for a pack of freezed burgers but a promotion for a tofu steack.
With the Internet brands can propose near in a real time an additionnal product by e.mail, when you buy on the Internet.
